STUDIO POLICIES AND RULES

At HDC, we promise a safe space for you to create and explore. The following policies and rules have been emplemented to ensure the enjoyment and safety of everyone.



STUDIO ETIQUETTE


  • Students should arrive 5-10 minutes before class to allow time to dress and prepare for class


  • All students must be ready to dance at the start of class. Late students may only be allowed


  • on the dance floor with the permission of the teacher.


  • Makeups for missed classes are offered when possible.


  • Students must be dressed properly with hair secured and jewelry removed for class.


  • Students and parents are responsible for their belongings. Please do not bring valuables in the studio. HDC is not responsible for lost, stolen or misplaced property.


  • All students must be picked up on time.


  • No loud noise.


  • No visitors allowed in the studio while class is in session.


  • No photography or videography allowed in the studio without permission.


  • Be kind to your teachers and classmates. Rudeness is unacceptable.


DANCE CODE


  • TODDLERS

       Toddlers and parents wear comfortable clothing (sweatpants, leggings, shorts) and dance barefoot.


  • BALLET-

       Girls-Black leotard, white tights (ages 4+6), nude tights (7 and up), ballet slippers

       Boys-Studio t-shirt, black leggings/sweatpants/dance pants. ballet slippers


  • TAP, JAZZ, MODERN-

        Girls-black leotard and white or nude tights

        Boys-Studio t-shirt, black leggings, sweatpants, dance pants

        Jazz, Modern, African dance students are barefoot

        Tap students wear black synthetic/leather tap shoes


  • HIP HOP-

        Studio t-shirt with black sweatpants or dance pants

        Sneakers that are only worn in the studio and not outdoors


  • Students who identify as gender diverse may choose the dress code they are most

       comfortable with
