At HDC, we promise a safe space for you to create and explore. The following policies and rules have been emplemented to ensure the enjoyment and safety of everyone.
STUDIO ETIQUETTE
- Students should arrive 5-10 minutes before class to allow time to dress and prepare for class
- All students must be ready to dance at the start of class. Late students may only be allowed
- on the dance floor with the permission of the teacher.
- Makeups for missed classes are offered when possible.
- Students must be dressed properly with hair secured and jewelry removed for class.
- Students and parents are responsible for their belongings. Please do not bring valuables in the studio. HDC is not responsible for lost, stolen or misplaced property.
- All students must be picked up on time.
- No visitors allowed in the studio while class is in session.
- No photography or videography allowed in the studio without permission.
- Be kind to your teachers and classmates. Rudeness is unacceptable.
DANCE CODE
Toddlers and parents wear comfortable clothing (sweatpants, leggings, shorts) and dance barefoot.
Girls-Black leotard, white tights (ages 4+6), nude tights (7 and up), ballet slippers
Boys-Studio t-shirt, black leggings/sweatpants/dance pants. ballet slippers
Girls-black leotard and white or nude tights
Boys-Studio t-shirt, black leggings, sweatpants, dance pants
Jazz, Modern, African dance students are barefoot
Tap students wear black synthetic/leather tap shoes
Studio t-shirt with black sweatpants or dance pants
Sneakers that are only worn in the studio and not outdoors
- Students who identify as gender diverse may choose the dress code they are most
comfortable with
